Appointment to do in Bolsena 7 and 8 August in the enchanting the medieval Old Town, dominated by the majestic Rocca Monaldeschi. After the huge success of
Medieval festival in previous years, this year will reply with an issue, however, much richer and full of appointments. The occasion of this important event is given by the desire to commemorate the siege in which, in 1328 the town of Bolsena was submitted by the army of Louis IV of Bavaria, who did not succeed in conquering the city.
The event will begin Saturday, August 7 at 18:30, with a major conference at the Municipal Auditorium of the City of Bolsena entitled "Bolsena in 1328: the siege of Bavaro in Bolsena," edited by prof. Pietro Tamburini, Prof. Antonio Quattranni and Dr. Monica Ceccariglia.
The day more 'but will be high on agenda' to Sunday, August 8, when the old town of Bolsena, already beautiful in its structure and its views will be animated by a series of events reminiscent and historical, that will bring the streets and places center of the ancient tastes and sounds of the Middle Ages.
It will start at 11.00 am at the Piazza Monaldeschi with the opening of the Medieval Market by Ass. reenactment of the "Order of the Seal." The group medieval "Le Gaite of the Dragon" will enliven the streets instead of the old town from 17.00, followed at 18.30, perhaps the most anticipated event of the event, la I’ edizione del Corteo Storico “I difensori della Rocca bolsenese”. Piu’ di 40 persone circa parteciperanno a questa rievocazione storica, facendo rivivere, attraverso gli splendidi abiti sapientemente confezionati da un’importante laboratorio di sartoria di Ferrara ma anche da alcune abili sarte di Bolsena, i grandi personaggi dell’epoca, dal Papa, all’Antipapa, l’Imperatore e l’Imperatrice, accompagnati da nobili, cortigiani e soldati.
Il corteo percorrerà le strade del centro storico di Bolsena, regalando agli spettatori e ai molti turisti presenti al momento nella cittadina lacustre, uno spettacolo da ricordare.
Alle ore 21.00 la piazza Monaldeschi sarà nuovamente animata dal balletto “S.Giorgio e il Drago”, della scuola di danza “Punte e Mezzepunte”, mentre alle ore 21.30 per le vie del centro storico si terrà il concerto itinerante di musica medievale del gruppo “DAN.CA.MUS”. La manifestazione si concluderà poi con lo spettacolo di giocoleria medievale e del fuoco del gruppo “Giocolieri e Focolieri di Soriano” che si esibiranno presso la Piazza Monaldeschi alle ore 22.30.
Tra uno spettacolo e l’altro inoltre i turisti e tutti coloro che vorranno passare una giornata diversa dal solito, potranno fermarsi presso la maggior parte dei Ristoranti e Trattorie di Bolsena aderenti all’iniziativa, a degustare i Menu’ tipici e a tema preparati specially for the occasion.
